Survivor to Survivor Network Workshop Facilitator

We Are Hiring

The Survivor to Survivor Network Program is an undertaking of the POGO School and Work Transitions Program. The Transitions Program was established by the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) in 2002 to address the unique, acquired learning needs of youth who have survived childhood cancer. The late effects of childhood cancer and its treatment can impact not only the way students learn, but also their social and emotional well-being, and their ability to successfully transition to postsecondary education (college or university), apprenticeships, training, or the workplace. To learn more about the POGO School and Work Transitions Program visit us here.

The S2S Network has two elements:
  • Four Network facilitators will work with the support of a Network mentor, a topic expert* and Transitions counsellor to create topic specific workshops. A main component of the workshop will be a PowerPoint presentation developed by the facilitator with the support of the topic expert* and mentor. The presentation format will be in accordance with Covid-19 recommendations at time of delivery (e.g. webinar vs. in person). Each facilitator will be asked to present their workshop twice, once in June/July and once in October/November. A Transitions counsellor and the topic expert* will be present for support purposes at each workshop. You can find more information about the S2S Network here
  • The S2S Network Team will collaborate with POGO fundraising to plan for and execute Linked for Life, a special campaign created by the S2S Network 2020 Team for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (CCAM). You can read about Linked for Life in the most recent eNews edition

The Network mentor will be available to all of the facilitators throughout the year-long program to troubleshoot, guide and support facilitators to a successful experience.

*Once the workshop topics have been chose, we will be attempting to engage community volunteers who are topic experts to work with each facilitator on developing and delivering the 2021 workshops.
