Create an Event

Great events come in all shapes and sizes and the options are limitless. Choose one of the ideas below or create one of your own!

The Classics

Bake sales, garage sales, pie-in-the-face games, lemonade/coffee stands, car washes, head-shavings, and more

Celebrations

Use birthdays, graduations and special events to encourage friends and family to donate to your fundraising campaign in lieu of gifts

At Work

Set up a dress down day at work or offer to grab your team coffees on the way in, for a donation of course

Involve Your Community

Do a bottle drive and collect empty bottles and cans to be returned to a bottle depot for reimbursement

Throw a Party

Organize a party and ask for donations in return--BBQs, pizza parties, cook-offs, Netflix nights, High-Tea, game nights…this list goes on and on!

Get Creative

Are you an aspiring violinist? A sports car enthusiast? A crowd-pleasing magician? Use whatever your passion may be to better the lives of kids with cancer

Create your own event today!

We truly appreciate your commitment to bettering the lives of kids with cancer, their families and survivors by hosting an event on behalf of POGO. To express our appreciation, we would love to help in the following ways:

  • Provide a dedicated staff member to answer questions and offer support
  • Set up your fundraising page or show you how you can easily navigate our online fundraising software yourself
  • Provide a letter of support to be used to validate the authenticity of the event and its organizers (for purposes other than sponsorship solicitation)
  • Provide supplies that support your fundraising efforts including POGO brochures, posters, videos, photos and logo where approved
  • Promote your event on our website and through our social media channels
  • Provide tax receipts for eligible gifts

Please keep in mind that POGO cannot do the following:

  • Secure sponsorship for your event
  • Provide our donor, sponsorship or volunteer lists
  • Provide funds to cover event costs
  • Promote or advertise other than on our event listings and Facebook page
  • Guarantee that staff or volunteers from POGO will attend your event
  • Issue tax receipts other than as outlined by Canada Revenue Agency guidelines
